Saya is one of the characters who I keep sketching or drawing randomly. Usually when I'm in the train or at lunch. I tend to draw her with her mask on.
Basic story is she's a fighter, maybe an assassin. She's young and very talented, but all she knows is the village she grew up in.
The softness of the colors used creates a very dramatic feel to the image. I also really like the feel of the lighting, down to the reflection in her eye, and off the mask.
And, the hair, as I would expect from work of yours, is beautiful. Most impressive to me though, is the two lone strands trailing over the right (her right that is ) of the mask and the one trailing across her cheek. That touch adds a breathless quality to the image that makes me feel like I've caught a glimpse of her in the middle of something.
About the only thing that feels... off to me I guess, is the lips on the mask. I am unsure if it's because the lips are parted rather then closed (something I'm not used to seeing) or if something about the angle makes the left corner of the lips seem crooked however.
Fantastic work! The mask is just as beautiful as the woman who wears it! ^_^

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community.
