Stating the Obvious...I know ... I haven't been updating. Nor have I been very active in the art world lately -- and it sucks

I see my dusty deviantart page...my delayed commissions and unfinished artwork on my screen. But everytime I try to do anything about it - I procrastinate and end up going to sleep instead.
This was officially another ART SLUMP. Boo!!
Turning Things AroundMy husband is here with me. Finally!! I have someone to hug me when I'm down...and that's a BIG help after living alone for 4 years. The best part of it is - it's as if all that negativity and sorrow from that 4-year period was just erased! POOF! GONE! I can't recall any of it anymore, now that he's here. I know I went through it - but all the bad stuff is now just a distant memory.
Anime Expo It's just around the corner...we're so excited! We'll be cosplaying together. This weekend we spent time in Hollywood looking for a wig for my husband. We found some nice inexpensive wigs that we can just style. They cost about $20 and very good in terms of quality.
Styling wigs can be frustrating, tho!! Haha! Especially for craft-clumsy people like me! I'll probably post some progress pics here, and we can all have a good laugh.
BJD Scene Oooh! A lot has been happening here, even though I've been inactive in the doll community as well. I've been following a thread on Den Of Angels about an 'artist'
Mjin Schatje using company and doll-owner photographs to make artwork and sell them as her own. The photographs or parts of it are vector traced - changes a litte color, adds a little more details here an there and then she puts them together as one 'original' pic. Puts them up in a gallery and sells them for $1000's of dollars.
[link] [link]So, a little collaging and compositing may seem harmless. Call it fanart or a homage. But the worst part of it is she would claim that EVERYTHING was from scratch and from her own imagination. And that she had never heard of BJD's. Not good!
I mean, I do commissions and fanarts of video game characters like Aerith or Squall...but I don't claim that I designed the characters. O_O
When confronted by the BJD community, her statement changes - acknowledging BJD's and stuff. And that the companies and doll owners had granted her permission to use their photos.
It was one of the longest threads that I have ever read and followed. I'll just wait and see what happens.
WorkplaceGeez...I can complain about this the WHOOOLEEE DAYYYY.....
